Notes: As a scarce short-lived flower found in remote mountain areas, the plant has been used as a symbol for alpinism. On a walk in Ordesa in the Spanish Pyrenees we saw on the same day these early-season, mid-season and late season versions of this ´Flor de nieves on different parts of the route.
